In 2016, JKS was contracted by JHL Constructors to complete asbestos abatement and structural demolition activities on the Edison School District’s Jr./Sr. High School Building and Gymnasium on the district’s Yoder campus. This included removal of window glazing compound, textured drywall, floor tile and mastic, sheet flooring and mastic, asbestos containing plaster, and exterior asbestos containing stucco. Once this abatement was complete, the gymnasium and gymnasium lobby were demolished, leaving a metal frame to be dismantled by a separate general contractor. This process included all required permitting through the city of Yoder and the Colorado Department of Health and Environment; as well as other pre-demolition tasks such as cutting and capping of utilities. The project was completed within the given schedule and budget.
