In 2014, JKS was contracted by Arcadis US Inc. to provide asbestos abatement in both a Walgreens and a Dress Barn on the 16th Street Mall in Denver Colorado. For the Walgreens project the asbestos abatement consisted of removal of wall plaster, plaster in association with store coolers, and TSI pipe insulation with related sealant and caulking. In the Dress Barn, asbestos abatement activities included removal of wall plaster, floor tile, joint compound, and TSI pipe insulation with related sealant and caulking. As the project was completed it was found that there was more existing asbestos containing material. Additional flooring materials and drywall were removed and additional penetrations into materials containing asbestos were performed. All work was completed within the required schedule and budget.
